Def Stunt - Sweet Dreams (Eurythmics, Nina Simone & Pryda Included Remix)
We’ve got another great FREE 320kbs track from one of our new favourites, Def Stunt.
He’s put together a fine Remix of a long standing classic.
At some point every DJ has spun a version of Sweet Dreams, so it’s great to have an up to date one to spin out.
The Remix takes on a 2010 Big Room Tech House vibe.
It has the classic 80’s Sweet Dreams Riff and the well recognised Vocal from Nina Simone – I Feel Good, which has been made to sound really airy and mysterious. There’s also part of well known Pryda track in there too; at the breakdown. It’s a high pitched string that leads to the electronic blast of beats and intricate percussion.
Overall this is an immense remix, and Def Stunt aka Zander Mazuka is definitely not a name to be sneered at.

This guy is moving SOOO fast!
Firstly…
His own track ‘Rockerblaas’ is another dance floor destroying Big Room/Tech House animal that jogs along nicely at the beginning with Big drums and a massive Bassline!
It drops into what could be mistaken for a washy Deadmau5 track…
And then BANG…
It kicks into a massive, explosive Big Room Monster that even has a rock guitar feel.
It somehow reminds of peak time Cocoon sounds in Ibiza.
Brilliant!!!
‘Def Stunt – Rockerblaas’
Secondly…
His Remix of ‘Treasure Fingers – Lift Me’, takes his production skills to a completely different vibe and genre.
This track has a Jacking/Fidget House feel with a Techy House lead floating over the top from the break onwards.
It’s a bit ‘Indie Rave’ when it kicks in; and sounds like the Kissy Sellout, Annie Mac and even the Zane Lowe, vibe.
It’s a totally new production and only samples a very small part of the main Riff and easily recognisable Vocal. Its good dance floor peak time Fun.
Clever Stuff.

It seems as though his Remix of Donna Summer – I Feel Love is still going really strong.
As now used in the Gucci – Flora perfume advert, were pretty sure there are big things set for this Birmingham based UK producer.
Donna Summer – I Feel Love (Def Stunt 2010 Tech House Remix)
Say YES to technooooo!
If Crazy Techno is your thing, then you’re going love this.
Def Stunt is now making his mark on the Techno scene as well as Tech House scene.
‘Eighth Octave’ has an ever changing rhythm that is hypnotic and sounds absolutely massive when played loud. There’s a lot of Latin influence in certain parts; and I can see the likes of a Luciano-esque motive or interest moving into his Techno productions.
The remix is actually by his own alias ‘Zander Mazuka’; who is well known for fidget and jackin’ records. The ‘Zander Mazuka’ touch adds tweaked breaks and bridges, warped bass sounds, snappy chops and a strange; spoken Vox that is spread across the track neatly.
With several eclectic forthcoming releases and remixes on the way at the end of February; and the promise of more bootlegs and free remixes; Def Stunt is certainly a name to remember.

Also, checkout Gui Borrato’s new track, which seems to be getting a massive reaction at the moment and will be released shortly. His end of show 15minute set on Pete Tongs radio show last week was brilliant. Check it out.
